UNDERGROUND SUPPORT SYSTEMS

Wire Mesh, Rock Bolts, Split sets, Combi washers etc

Wire mesh is used to support small pieces of loose rock and broken rock from falling. Two types of wire mesh currently used in underground operations are chain-link mesh and weld mesh. Mesh is very economical and quickly installed. It is easy to attach to roof reinforcement with, extra faceplates and nuts. It is easily repaired. Mesh is useful for supporting small pieces of broken rock. Weld-mesh is used traditionally as reinforcement for shotcrete but is rapidly being replaced by steel fiber reinforced shotcrete. Mesh, like straps, is held in place with additional faceplates or washers and nuts on rock-bolts or using separate pins.
At EDICO we are able to supply both weld mesh and chain-link.
Roof support is mainly used in underground applications in mines, tunnels, slopes, or wherever reliable ground support is needed. Our friction rock bolts produce superior holding power due to their unique design that exerts pressure against the rock over its full contact length immediately upon installation. When ground shift occurs, our rock bolts conform to the changing ground conditions.
The result is a tight grip that actually grows stronger with time and ground movements, providing reliable ground support. Friction Bolts never needs tightening. Our Friction rock bolt stabilizers are a simple system requiring only two parts a tube and bearing plate. Fast, easy installation takes usually less than a minute - just drill and drive.. They are available in lengths and sizes to meet your needs and are made of standard, galvanized, or stainless steel.
